It’s been about 6 months since we visited the stretch of footpath in Measham along the former railway line from the area past the old station/museum then heading back down towards and under the Horses Lane bridge. This means that throughout the Summer the vegetation has continued to grow and with much use by the public there has unfortunately been some littering too.
This is a very popular route for local dog walkers, especially since being opened as part of our footpath between Measham and Snarestone, so we would like to cut back the overgrowth and remove the litter to keep this footpath useable and enjoyable for all.
It is advisable to wear suitable clothing for whatever the forecast is on the day and also to wear sensible footwear. It can be very overgrown in some areas where we work so please bear in mind there may be a lot of thorns/stingers etc and take the necessary precautions.
It is a good idea to bring yourself a packed lunch and any other refreshments that you will require. We intend to provide hot drinks but you are welcome to bring your own should you prefer.
As always we look forward to seeing some new faces and catching up with old friends.
Meeting at Snarestone Wharf at 09:30am for a 10:00 departure to the site.
