It’s that time of year again where nature tries to reclaim the world from us Humans and everything goes on a massive growth spurt. This means that a number of parts of the footpath that we have established are now becoming a little overgrown.
The worst of these areas being the stretch in Measham along the former railway line from past the old station/museum heading down towards and under the Horses Lane bridge and then along to the old railway embankment.
As you can see from the photos below it is getting a little difficult to walk down there now, especially if you don’t like getting your legs stung so we need to deal with this ASAP.
If you have not volunteered with us before we welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities to come along and give us a hand, have an opportunity to socialise with other volunteers and find out what we have planned for the future. Give as little or as much time as you can spare. We will be around most of the day but you don’t have to stay for the whole day unless you want to.
You are welcome to bring any suitable tools that you may have although we do have some tools available for use of our own if you do not.
It is advisable to wear suitable clothing for whatever the forecast is on the day and also to wear sensible footwear. It is very overgrown in some areas where we will be working so please bear in mind there are a lot of stingers etc so take necessary precautions.
It is a good idea to bring yourself a packed lunch and any other refreshments that you will require. We intend to provide hot drinks but you are welcome to bring your own should you prefer.
