More site clearance past bridge 62 (Terminus) – December

When: Sun, December 12, 2021 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Where: Snarestone Wharf, Quarry Lane, Snarestone, Leicestershire DE12 7DD Contact: Arran Jenkins Contact Email: volunteer@ashbycanal.org.uk Open Volunteer Spots: Unlimited

We have recently carried out a number of work parties along the stretch after the current terminus, just past bridge 62 in preparation for the next phase of restoration. This work party will be to continue with this work to help us further prepare for this.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities to come along and give us a hand, have an opportunity to socialise with other volunteers and find out what we have planned for the future. Give as little or as much time as you can spare. We will be around most of the day but you don’t have to stay for the whole day unless you want to.

You are welcome to bring any suitable tools that you may have although we do have some tools available for use of our own if you do not. It is advisable to wear suitable clothing for whatever the forecast is on the day and also to wear sensible footwear. It is very muddy in places along the area where we will be working so please bear this in mind.

It is a good idea to bring yourself a packed lunch and any other refreshments that you will require. We intend to provide hot drinks but you are welcome to bring your own should you prefer.

We look forward to seeing some new faces and catching up with old friends.
